Rock On Vinyl

It's great seeing vinyl records making a comeback.  Soli's daddy has a collection and Soli is  fascinated by daddy's new turntable.

Aah! Lovely to see Soli experiencing the vibe from music being played the old way!

Do you remember the first record you bought back in the day?   Holding it as if it was gold!  and placing it ever so carefully on the turntable, watching the arm and stylus connect with the record ...Perfect!

This record brings back lots of school memories.  Bopping in the gym on a wet lunch time.   I loved this track so much that I saved all my sixpences up for months to buy it!  During my early teens I listened to lots of different music but Mowtown just did it for me!  I know! 😉

The Four Tops singing 'Walk Away Renee' still brings a lump to my throat.

The only good bit about school was friends and those lunch time bopping sessions! 💃

Me and my best friend Dympna.  We were influenced by her older sister who was into the Rolling Stones. Great music and 'Brown Sugar' was always on the play list at parties.

That's my boy!   Rock on vinyl 💙🌝

  1. Soli has rythmn for sure, and you, Anne, Dympna and Yvonne could still be identified but who is the girl on the end?

    1. Soli certainly loves music. That girl is Margaret Byrne, best friends with Elizabeth Shay. I think Elizabeth was the photographer. Were you not a member of the wet weather lunch club? You and me weren't really friends at school, were we? It had to be fate for us to meet again in the work environment and go on holiday to meet the boys! When you got married Ian escorted me to your wedding (Steve was in the US) Ian told me that I was going to marry the wrong man! In a different life you and me might have been related. John was a complete bastard. I have songs that remind me of different times in my life and Barbara Dickson's 'Will You Still Love me Tomorrow ' reminds me of him. Everything worked out fine though, I love a happy ending and Steve and I have been married for thirty one year, not as long as you and Martin though. Xx
